The Columbia River above Bonneville Dam is open 7 days a week for the next
couple of months for Sturgeon fishing. The fishing has been good, but will only
get better throughout the season. Below Bonneville Dam the Sturgeon fishing is
still open for retention on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The Willamette
River opens in mid-February for Sturgeon. There have been a few spring chinook
salmon caught in the Columbia River already. It is predicted to be a large run.
I will be catching spring chinook salmon now through June.
Thanks for listening to me and lets go fishing.

Salmon fishing has been slow at the coast because of
the dry weather. The water is low and cold. Sturgeon fishing has been
great in the Portland area. The best baits have been on sand shrimp and smelt
if your lucky enough to have some. Fortunately I do. Winter Steelhead
should start up here soon after the next good rains.
Thanks for watching my report.

Buoy 10 is now kicking out some good numbers of Chinook Salmon. The best bite
has been on the morning tides. The best method is trolling Herring whole or cut
plug also Spinners work very well. The Oregon state Game Commission is
predicting 760.000 Chinook Salmon and Coho to return this year that would be the
largest Salmon run in 20 years. This fishery will only get better as we get
further into August. After Labor Day we will be fishing for the same fish in the
Portland area.

We are currently fishing for Summer Steelhead and
Sturgeon on the Columbia River. For Summer Steelhead the best method has been
anchoring up with small kwikfish and spinners. The Sturgeon bite has been best
on shad and squid. Walleye fishing has been good lately. Now that the Columbia
River is coming down, bottom walkers with worms has been the best bet. Also BUOY
10 Astoria Columbia River Chinook and Coho Salmon starts August 1st. There are
760,000 Salmon predicted to return this year. The largest run of Salmon in 20
years.
Lets go Fishing!
Thanks,

The Spring
Chinook fishing on the Willamette River is slowing down now. It has been a very
good season. Now the best salmon and sturgeon fishing will be on the Columbia
River. Then around August it's Buoy 10 Chinook and Coho salmon time through mid
September. Then we're back in Portland fishing for them again as they go up the
Columbia River through October.
Thank you and
let's go fishing!

June 9, 2011
The Columbia River water levels remain very high and
fast. I don't recommend it till the river comes down. We have been doing
well on the Willamette River for Sturgeon and Chinook Salmon. The Willamette was
55 degrees today. We caught more fish today on spinners than bait. I will
continue to fish for the Spring Chinook Salmon and Sturgeon at least through
June. Maybe longer on the Willamette River. Astoria area Sturgeon is still
poor. That fishery might go through July. It should be red hot by then. I'm
looking forward to Fishing down there.
Thanks,

The Spring Salmon Chinook fishing has been very good
lately. The fish have really moved up the Willamette River and are biting on
everything - Herring, Prawns, and Spinners. The water is in perfect shape and
the temperature is perfect too. The Columbia River is open again but is running
extremely high and fast. It should be real good when the river levels come down.
Thanks and lets go fishing.

Hello Fishermen,
Spring
Salmon fishing has been very good this week on the Columbia River. The
Willamette is coming back into shape and will continue to put out some beautiful
and very large Chinook Salmon. The best methods are trolling either Herring or
Prawns the depth depends on water clarity and temperature. The fishing will be
good from St Helen's at the mouth of the Multnomah Chanel clear up to Oregon
City.
Good Luck and I hope we can go fishing.
Thanks

Hello Fishermen,
It's Spring time now, that means Spring Chinook
Salmon and Sturgeon fishing on the Columbia and Willamette rivers. Sturgeon
fishing opens this week and will be very good in the Portland area for the next
couple months or until the quota is filled. Then in mid May the Sturgeon action
switches to the Astoria area.
Springers (Spring Chinook Salmon) are right around
the corner in the Columbia and Willamette rivers. There have been a lot of early
Salmon being caught and it's predicted to be a very good run with a 2 fish limit
per day this season.
These Salmon are the best eating in the country
which make them one of the ultimate prizes of the Northwest! Dates are filling
so be sure to contact us to hold your date soon.
With Valentines Day around the corner I wanted to mention that I
have gift certificates available, either by mail or on line, so if you're
looking for something different come enjoy a beautiful day on the water and the
excitement of a fish on the line. Come on along and enjoy yourself in my

The Columbia and Willamette Rivers are still running
high and off color. As the rivers drop STURGEON fishing will be very good.
Smelt and shrimp are the best baits. Also some SPRING CHINOOK SALMON have been
caught already and it is predicted to be a good run. Trolling herring works best
or anchored up with kwickfish.
Thanks - Larry! |

November 2010
The Fall Chinook and Coho Salmon fishing at
Tillamook Bay has been a little slow lately some salmon have been caught along
the jetty and the ghost hole trolling whole and cut plug herring also spinners.
The Steelhead fishing has been fairly good in the lower reaches of the John Day
River and in the Columbia River. Bobber fishing and trolling plugs has been the
best. Good Luck Fishermen.
Thanks - Larry! |

October 2010
Fishing has been very good for CHINOOK SALMON. I
have been fishing for CHINOOK SALMON in the Columbia River Gorge and have been
doing very well. The best method has been back trolling Kwikfish or anchored up
Kwikfish.
I have also been fishing near the mouths of the
Sandy and Washougal rivers for COHO SILVER SALMON. Trolling plugs and spinners
has been the best method for catching these fish.
Thanks - Larry! |

September 16, 2010
The salmon fishing in the Columbia River has been very good. I have been fishing in the gorge and also around the airport anchored up with wobblers'. Sardine wrapped kwikfish has been good in the lighter current. Later in the month I will be at Tillamook Bay Salmon and Sturgeon fishing in the gorge.
Thanks - Larry! |

July 11, 2010
The Columbia River is full of nice bright Chinook Salmon & Summer Steelhead & the water is in perfect condition. The best methods have been from a boat anchored with spinners or kwikfish. This run of fish will continue to get even stronger until it's time for the Buoy 10 Salmon season where we will be catching Chinook & Coho Salmon well into September. We start fishing for them around mid August. Hope to take you fishing.
Thanks - Larry! |

October 7, 2009
I am Salmon fishing at Tillamook Bay now. The fishing has been getting better as October and November come along. I have had my best fishing trolling whole and cut plug Herring. When we get our next rainfall the fishing should greatly pick up with Fall Chinooks weighing up to 45 pounds. There are also plenty of Coho Salmon in the bay. Crabbing has been great. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.

The Columbia River is full of Chinook and Coho Salmon at Astoria's Buoy 10 fishery. The best method's are to troll cut plug and whole herring. The Chinooks are generally a little deeper than the Coho. You can also troll spinners for both species. Most people use the different colored plastic divers. Please email or call me if I can help you. Thanks.

Your best baits are anchovies, shrimp, and smelt. Its always lots of fun fishing for them. Please email me or call if I can help you plan a productive fishing trip. Thanks and good luck fishing.

The river's have dropped from the high levels we had a few weeks ago. Steelhead fishing has been good in the local rivers with pulling plugs, drift fishing, sand shrimp, salmon eggs, bobber, & jig's. I look to February to be some great steelheading. The smelt have arrived in the Columbia - not a lot but enough that I got my year's worth. Naturally fresh smelt is the bait of choice. Enjoy Life and Lets Go Fishing. "Tight Lines".
