The Columbia River is full of nice bright Chinook
Salmon & Summer Steelhead & the water is in perfect condition. The best methods
have been from a boat anchored with spinners or kwikfish. This run of fish will
continue to get even stronger until it's time for the Buoy 10 Salmon season
where we will be catching Chinook & Coho Salmon well into September. We start
fishing for them around mid August. Hope to take you fishing.
Thanks - Larry! |

The first Spring Chinook was caught today. They are
expecting the largest run of Salmon since 1938. We will be fishing on the
Columbia River and Willamette River from now through May for the Spring Chinook
Salmon. The best methods are trolling whole and cut plug Herring and anchored up
using Sardine wrapped Kwikfish. Additionally the Smelt are in and Sturgeon
fishing has been very good. Hope to take you fishing soon!

December is here and Winter Steelhead & Sturgeon
fishing trips are what is going on now. We are currently fishing for Sturgeon on
the Willamette & Columbia rivers. The bite & catch have been good although when
it rains the next time it will get even better. The best bite has been on Smelt
& Squid fished very deep. Also Winter Steelhead is ready to start again. All we
need is a little rain & it will also pick up. The best methods are drifting,
salmon eggs, & sand shrimp along with back trolling plugs. Thanks & have a Merry
Christmas.

I am Salmon fishing at Tillamook Bay now. The
fishing has been getting better as October and November come along. I have had
my best fishing trolling whole and cut plug Herring. When we get our next
rainfall the fishing should greatly pick up with Fall Chinooks weighing up to 45
pounds. There are also plenty of Coho Salmon in the bay. Crabbing has been
great. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.

The Columbia River is full of Chinook and Coho
Salmon at Astoria's Buoy 10 fishery. The best method's are to troll cut plug and
whole herring. The Chinooks are generally a little deeper than the Coho. You can
also troll spinners for both species. Most people use the different colored
plastic divers. Please email or call me if I can help you. Thanks.

In June we will be fishing for salmon at Tillamook
Bay and Sturgeon on the Columbia River at Astoria. The Spring Chinook Salmon at
Tillamook have started to show up in pretty good numbers lately. Trolling whole
or cut plug herring is always your best bet incoming tides are your best
fishing. Also in June we fish for the keeper size Sturgeon in Astoria on the
Columbia river. Your best baits are anchovies, shrimp, and smelt. Its always
lots of fun fishing for them. Please email me or call if I can help you plan a
productive fishing trip. Thanks and good luck fishing.

The river's have dropped from the high levels
we had a few weeks ago. Steelhead fishing has been good in the local rivers
with pulling plugs, drift fishing, sand shrimp, salmon eggs, bobber, &
jig's. I look to February to be some great steelheading. The smelt have
arrived in the Columbia - not a lot but enough that I got my year's worth.
Naturally fresh smelt is the bait of choice. Enjoy Life and Lets Go Fishing.
